ACRA CONTROL

FTI Experience

Designed for FTI

ACRA CONTROL provided an FTI solution to a helicopter development program that required a rugged distributed system with remote DAUs capable of being mounted on the main and tail rotors. The solution used standard data acquisition systems in the fuselage, main rotor and tail rotor. The tail rotor’s DAU featured a special base plate and weights to ensure dynamic balance and was successfully spun at 1350 rpm to prove it would withstand the environment.

Simplified Commissioning

Embraer has selected ACRA CONTROL’s Ethernet distributed network data acquisition system to instrument their flight test aircraft. The installed systems consisted of multiple data acquisition units (DAUs), switches and recorders with one chassis providing an Ethernet to PCM bridge using an encoder module to facilitate real-time telemetry. A Grandmaster switch provides system wide synchronization using the IEEE 1588 PTP. The recorder plugs directly into the existing FTI network using the same connectors and was quick to commission using the same software tools and XidML metadata.

Support Services

ACRA CONTROL was selected to provide an FTI solution for a very light jet manufacturer. The solution provided accurate signal conditioning with integrated video, recording, GPS time and tracking and onboard real-time display interface - all in an integrated, flexible, and distributed architecture. ACRA CONTROL’s support department played a significant role in defining the integrated solution for both airborne and ground-station systems, including the display and analysis software.
