Why KAM-500?

ALL DIGITAL BACKPLANE

  • No channel crosstalk that occurs when using an analog backplane with multiplexers. Enables higher accuracy Analog to Digital Converters to be used, e.g. the latest KAM-500 modules use a 16-bit ADC.

ONE ADC PER CHANNEL

  • Enables fully isochronous sampling, every analog channel, even in a distributed system can be sampled at exactly the same instant in time, making time correlation of events in analysis trivial.
    With one ADC per channel the choice of ADC can be tailored to suit the accuracy and bandwidth requirements of the particular sensor or application.

FLEXIBLE SAMPLE RATES

  • Through the use of high speed oversampling Analog/Digital Converters, and advanced digital filtering techniques, the user has complete control when defining sample rates.

ACQUISITION CYCLE BASED

  • KAM-500 is based around doing one thing well, sampling your data and then doing it again, and again, giving you 1000’s of parameters, on multiple chassis, all sampled at exactly the same time.

ANY MODULE – ANY SLOT – ANY CHASSIS

  • With the KAM-500 all-digital backplane there are no restrictions on which slot a module can be placed in, giving you full flexibility in configuring and designing your system. And with standard, “brick”, compact, and annular chassis available compatible with all KAM-500 modules, there’s a combination suitable for every application.

MULTIPLE OUTPUT TYPES

  • KAM-500 is capable of outputting data in PCM, Ethernet, ARINC, MIL-STD 1553 formats, and logging data to solid state flash memory – all at the same time. The parameters and their sample rates can even be different between each of the different output/memory formats.

NO ADJUSTMENT REQUIRED

  • There are no potentiometers, trim resistors, switches or multiplexers used in KAM-500, so there’s no drift over time or temperature, making measurements more accurate, and no calibration is required.
